So, why Haunted Attractions?
So, why Haunted Attractions? It all started on a trip to Florida in the mid 90's where we experienced our first scare attraction and what better place to start than at the the world famous Terror on Church Street in downtown Orlando? After a lot of screaming, bumping into each other and running so fast to escape that we all fell on the floor of the gift shop at the exit, a love affair was born!
Several trips to the USA followed until the early part of the "00's" when the UK started to catch on to this "American Halloween" idea. Halloween has become more and more popular here and the market seems to be growing, with local farms, theme parks and castles making more elaborate offerrings each year.
With this in mind, Kevin came up with the Haunted Attractions website - the first UK based site dedicated to promoting Haunted Attractions. The results are presented in front of you now. Our mission is simple: to promote the scary but safe and fun activites that can be found in the UK (and not just at Halloween - as there seems to be some ambitious plans for some year round events). From hayrides to walk throughs to anything new the designers can conjure up - if it's scary then expect to find it within these pages.

Kevin Sudds (45) Site Creator and Editor
Kevin is perhaps our most easily scared member; he will jump at anything and everything usually accompanied by the stamping of his feet at the same time. After refusing to point blank go into any haunted attraction he was finally persuaded to go into Terror on Church Street in Orlando in 1997. Despite screaming all the way round, and at the half way point shaking like a leaf, he held it together and made it all the way through exiting with a big grin.
Since then he hasn’t needed any persuading to go through any attraction, although he refuses to lead a group or be at the very back. He also will not sit on his own on any haunted ride. WIMP!
In creating this online reference site, he hopes we can spread the good word about these attractions and how much fun they really are.
Memorable Moment: After being terrorised by the chainsaw guy in Terror on Church Street, falling out of the exit onto the gift shop floor in a bundle with the other 8 people in the group.
Wayne Davis (39) Marketing and Design
Wayne still has no idea why he likes being scared, maybe it’s just a controlled fear… being scared, but knowing its safe. However, he still hides behind the cushions at scary bits in films!!!
With very little idea about what was happening he was dragged off a 9 hour flight, driven across Orlando and forced to walk through the Haunted Mansion with 2 friends. An experience not to be forgotten we did it another two times on the trip… once it’s in your blood you just have to keep at it.
And from that day on, the rest, as they say is history.
Memorable Moment: Most people get frightened by monsters, but Wayne is scared by anything! On a trip through a maze in California a “hedge*” jumped out at him and had him rolling on the floor for minutes. * it was in fact a person covered in camouflage netting hidden in a wall of camouflage netting!
